I seemed to have fixed the charging problem by simply removing the charging cord and restarting without it plugged into the laptop. After the laptop restarts and fully loads up the desktop, simply I simply re-plugged the charging cord into the socket and the device manager automatically reinstalled the correct driver and it works again. On a side bar, I did the Dell hardware troubleshooting before I posted this into the community.
